Our history

Raúl Cárdenas Ampuero and América Rodríguez Teveni are a couple for whom work was an integral part of their lives. From a young age, both worked diligently in Chile and Argentina, learning the values of responsibility and effort.

Raúl is renowned for his passion for horses. He has tamed over 2,000 horses, earning recognition in the region as one of the most skilled horsemen, gauchos, and shepherds.

América is remembered as a visionary and innovative woman for her time, with sophisticated tastes and a knack for starting various ventures. She balanced her time between social and cultural activities. Her strength led her to be involved in numerous projects. She learned to cook, inspired by the Argentine cook “Doña Petrona,” and managed chickens, pigs, dairy cows, and made cheeses, jams, cakes, and butter to increase the family’s income. Her later ventures included the Cerro Castillo gas station and the current Café El Ovejero. All the fruit and ornamental trees surrounding the Anahi del Valle estancia were planted by her, and she takes joy in their growth and the many stories they have inspired.
